What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is profit as a share of the cost. A £60 item sold for £100 has a 40% margin and a 66.67% markup.
How is VAT removed from a price?
The gross price is divided by 1 plus the rate. At 20%, £120 ÷ 1.2 = £100 net.
How are amounts rounded?
To the nearest penny.
