- Choose or drop a PDF.
- To protect it, type a password twice and choose what people may do with it. To unlock it, type its current password.
- Select Protect PDF or Remove password.

How secure is it?
The PDF is encrypted with 256-bit AES, the strongest method PDFs support. A long password that isn’t used anywhere else makes it much harder to guess.
I’ve forgotten the password. Can you get it back?
No. There is no way to recover a lost password, and this tool can’t break into PDFs.
Do the printing and copying limits work everywhere?
Most PDF apps respect them, but some ignore them. For anything sensitive, rely on the password, not the limits.
Is my PDF or password uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device.
