Questions
How much smaller will it get?
It depends on what’s in it. Scans and photo-heavy PDFs often shrink a lot. PDFs that are mostly text are usually small already, so there’s little to gain.
What do the quality settings do?
Smallest file limits pictures to 1,600 pixels on their longest side, Balanced to 2,400 and Best quality to 3,200, with stronger JPEG compression for smaller files.
Is anything else changed?
No. Text, links, bookmarks and form fields are kept. A few kinds of picture, such as print-ready CMYK images, are left as they are.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device.
