Questions
Which formats can I convert from?
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, HEIC, TIFF, BMP, ICO, TGA, QOI, PPM/PGM/PBM and SVG.
Can I convert iPhone photos (HEIC)?
Yes. Safari reads them directly. In other browsers a HEIC decoder (about 2 MB) downloads the first time you use one, then works offline.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with the background colour you choose.
Is metadata kept?
No. Converting creates a new image, so EXIF data such as location is removed.
